    Manager – Research & Development (Exposure Management)

    City of London / Hybrid

    IPS are partnered with a highly innovative Lloyd’s Syndicate positively challenging the traditional insurance model in their search for a Manager to enhance their Research and Development function focused on both natural and non-natural catastrophes.

    The successful candidate will provide industry-leading expertise to help develop the understanding and view of risk across classes. You will have the opportunity to partner with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including collaboration with leading academic and scientific institutes, with the overarching responsibilities of ensuring the business understands its risk profile, reflects the latest science (including such related to Climate Change etc) and that the management & development of external and internal tools utilised for Catastrophe Modelling and Exposure Management analysis are best-in-class.

    To be considered for the above role:

    • Post-graduate qualifications (e.g Masters, PhD or equivalent research experience) in a relevant field of study
    • Strong understanding and experience using commercial catastrophe models (e.g RMS/AIR) in Lloyd’s/London Market environment.
    • Advanced IT skills including GIS tools, SQL, Python and VBA – additional coding and programming languages being advantageous.
    • Good communication and project management skills desirable
