    – Google Chrome 12 –

     To Magnify Your Screen

     To change colours and fonts

    You cannot change the default fonts and colours in Chrome unless you download the ChangeColors extension, which can be found by searching on the Chrome Web Store or linking directly to the ChangeColors extension.

      1. Click the Install button to install the ChangeColors extension
      2. Once installed, right-click the ChangeColors icon (it will be visible to the right of the URL field) and select Options
      3. Choose your preferences for fonts and colours
      4. Click on the ChangeColors icon to toggle between your preferences and the website’s design

    – Firefox 4 or later –

     To magnify your screen

     Changing text and background colour

      1. Go to Tools > Options
      2. Select the Content tab
      3. In Fonts and Colors, click the Colors button on the right
      4. Set your colour preferences for text, background and links
      5. Uncheck ‘Allow pages to choose their own colors instead of my selections above’
      6. Click on OK in the Colors window, then click OK in the Options window

     Changing the default font style and size

      1. Go to Tools > Options
      2. Select Content tab
      3. In Fonts and Colors, choose default font and size or click the Advanced button on the right for more options
      4. Click OK

     To hide images on web pages

      1. Go to Tools > Options
      2. Select the Content tab
      3. Uncheck ‘Load Images Automatically’
      4. Click OK

    – Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later –

     Changing text size

     To permanently apply font or colour changes

      1. In the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
      2. On the General tab, select Accessibility
      3. Click the three boxes to show ticks

     Changing the default font

      1. In the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
      2. On the General tab, click Fonts
      3. In the Proportional and Fixed-width font lists, select the fonts you would like to use

     Changing text and background colour

      1. In the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
      2. On the General tab, click Colors
      3. Click on the tick box labelled Use Windows Colors
      4. Click Text, and select the colour you want. Click OK
      5. Click Background, and select the colour you want to use. Click OK

     To hide images on web pages

      1. In the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
      2. On the Advanced tab, scroll down to Multimedia
      3. Click on Show pictures to remove the tick
      4. Click on Apply, and then click on OK

     To change the size of the window

      1. Click Full Screen on the toolbar
      2. In the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
      3. Select the Advanced tab
      4. Choose the options you would like

    – Safari 4 or later –

     To magnify your screen

      • Press [Cmd] + to increase the size of text and images
      • Press [Cmd] – to decrease the size of text and images
      • Press [Cmd] 0 to return the size of text and images to their original size
      • To magnify text only, go to View > Zoom Text Only

     To change the default font style and size

      1. Go to Safari > Preferences
      2. Select Appearance tab
      3. Click Select to the right of Standard Font to choose the font, size and colour
      4. Close the window

     To stop images loading

      1. Go to Safari > Preferences
      2. Select Appearance tab
      3. Uncheck ‘Display images when the page opens’
      4. Close the window

     To set the minimum font size for all web pages

      1. Go to Safari > Preferences
      2. Select Appearance tab
      3. Check ‘Never use font sizes smaller than’ and select a font size
      4. Close the window
