Senior Account Broker / Broking Team Leader
A well-established, family-owned independent insurance broker is looking to appoint a Broking Team Leader to support the continued growth and development of its Coventry branch.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Commercial Account Broker, Senior Account Handler or existing Team Leader who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to play a key role in the leadership of a successful and growing business.
The Opportunity
This is not a pure management position.
The role combines ownership of a quality commercial client portfolio with responsibility for supporting and developing the broking team. You’ll become a key member of the branch leadership structure, working closely with the Branch Manager and helping drive performance, service standards and team development.
The majority of your time will remain client-focused, managing and servicing a varied commercial portfolio, whilst also mentoring colleagues and assisting with the day-to-day running of the broking function.
The Role
- Manage a portfolio of commercial clients from renewal through to ongoing servicing.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Support Account Executives on larger and more complex accounts.
- Attend client meetings and insurance surveys where required.
- Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues.
- Assist with KPI monitoring, CPD tracking and team development.
- Conduct regular team meetings and support branch objectives.
- Help maintain the high servicing standards the business is known for.
- Act as a deputy to the Branch Manager and become a key part of the leadership team.
About You
We’re interested in speaking with individuals who have:
- Strong commercial insurance experience gained within an insurance broker.
- Experience as a Senior Account Handler, Account Broker, Team Leader or similar role.
- Sound technical knowledge across a broad range of commercial risks.
- Excellent organisational and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to mentor, support and challenge colleagues where appropriate.
- A genuine interest in leadership and developing people.
Previous management experience would be beneficial but is not essential. We are equally interested in individuals looking to take their first step into a leadership role.
