Head of Corporate
An independent insurance broker based in Birmingham is preparing for an exciting phase of growth and is looking to establish a corporate insurance division to complement its existing Midlands offering. With strong backing from investors and a solid infrastructure already in place, they are now seeking the right individual to lead this next chapter. This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop a new business stream within a well-supported and ambitious environment.
The business has a strong foundation across other areas of insurance and is now aiming to broaden its proposition to corporate clients. They have the office, the systems, and the support – they just need the right person to build and lead this new function. The role will suit someone who is currently operating at senior Account Executive level and is looking for that next challenge, or perhaps someone already in a similar leadership role who is ready to make a meaningful impact in a more autonomous and entrepreneurial setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing a pipeline of new corporate clients, offering strategic insurance solutions and a consultative approach to relationship development. You will be expected to bring a strong new business mindset, identify opportunities for growth, and play a key role in driving revenue. Importantly, you will also be tasked with setting up a team of Account Executives to support and expand the division’s presence in the corporate space.
Key responsibilities include sourcing and converting new business opportunities, building long-term relationships with prospects, overseeing client service delivery, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You’ll work closely with insurers to negotiate favourable terms and contribute to the development of internal strategies around growth and profitability. An understanding of P&L and how to scale a division will be highly beneficial.
