Salary: £28,000–£35,000 depending on experience

An established and growing claims operation is looking for an experienced Personal Lines Property Claims Handler to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in property claims who enjoys working in a technically focused, customer-driven environment. You will manage a portfolio of claims from notification through to settlement, assessing policy coverage, validating claim costs and ensuring customers receive a professional and efficient service throughout the process.
The Role
- Manage personal lines property claims from first notification through to settlement.
- Assess policy coverage, exclusions and endorsements to determine claim validity.
- Investigate claim circumstances, validate costs and negotiate fair settlements.
- Liaise with policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters, surveyors, contractors and other third parties.
- Monitor property repairs and work with suppliers to support effective claim resolution.
- Identify potential fraudulent activity and escalate concerns where appropriate.
- Handle complaints, technical referrals and more complex claims in line with internal procedures.
- Maintain accurate claim records and ensure compliance with FCA regulations and industry standards.
- Contribute to improving claims processes, service standards and the overall customer experience.
You will have previous experience handling personal lines property claims and be confident managing cases from initial notification through to resolution.
Experience Required:
- A solid understanding of home and landlord property insurance.
- Knowledge of policy wordings, coverage, exclusions and settlement processes.
- Experience liaising with loss adjusters, surveyors and contractors.
- Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage a varied caseload while meeting service standards.
- Good attention to detail and an understanding of regulatory requirements, including FCA guidelines and Treating Customers Fairly.
- Experience identifying and escalating potentially fraudulent claims.
A Cert CII, Cert CILA or a higher professional qualification would be advantageous.
