IPS have exclusively partnered on a very exciting opportunity with a highly innovative, technology driven start-up MGU in their search for a broadly skilled analytical professional with abilities across at least one of Catastrophe Modelling, Pricing and/or Portfolio Analytics. The business specialise in niche product lines across the US E&S Market, founded and lead by 2 highly regarded, entrepreneurial Underwriters, with strong investment and capacity from both the US and London Insurance Market. The plan for this position would be as the business grows, to build a team, perhaps with individuals owning a particular product line.

Being the first hire in London and working closely with the founders, the successful applicant will have responsibilities across;

Development and maintenance of pricing models across various products.
Data visualisation of pricing performance, profitability and risk exposure for both senior management and external stakeholders.
Monitoring of market trends, competitor actions and regulatory changes that may impact pricing and portfolio performance.
Providing Catastrophe Analytics to understand capital impact of portfolios for carriers.
Catastrophe Model research with the view to optimising and enhancing the internal view of risk.

To be considered;

Proven experience in Pricing, Catastrophe Modelling or Portfolio Analytics, with experience of this within the US E&S marketplace preferable but not a requisite.
Good knowledge of pricing techniques, tools and software with technical proficiency using one of more of SQL, R, Python, SAS or similar.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively dependent on the focus at any time.
