    This is an important role with responsibilities to both the Head of Insurance Programmes and the Chief Legal Officer. The role’s primary purpose is to assist and deputise for the Head of Insurance Programmes in ensuring that the organisation has appropriate insurance cover for insurable assets, liabilities, and financial risks while adding further value through the application of wider business risk understanding.

    Main Responsibilities:-

    • Responsible for communicating our risks and relative strength of our controls to shape and influence the insurance programme design.
    • Responsible for the Insurance program design and execution and leading the Global Insurance Program renewal process, from the collection and submission of data to the allocation of charges across all Group companies.
    • Responsible for triaging all new enquiries and ensuring that new arrangements (new policies or extensions to existing coverage) are fit for purpose and cost effective.
    • Lead on contract risk and associated insurance clauses with global business units.
    • M&A / disposal due diligence, risk, and contract workflows.
    • Responsible for managing insurance claims across the organisation including collation of claims data, outcomes, and ability to communicate the results to MU/BU/finance director level. Continuous improvement of claim protocols and processes.
    • Responsible for record maintenance, distribution, and documentation of the Insurance Programme(s), such and policy, premium and remuneration levels.

    Required Experience/Qualifications:-

    • Experience in the delivery and management of global Insurance Programmes ideally covering all lines of insurance and experience of placing overseas insurance, including admitted v non-admitted compliance
    • Strong in analytical and problem-solving supported by proficiency in Excel, with the ability to produce high quality reports.
    • High level interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to maintain a variety of relationships with multiple stakeholders, including senior stakeholders.
    • Strong background in contract risk management and ability to conceptualise risk.
    • Preferred but no essential: Understanding of M&A.
    • Strong understanding of policy wording construction and ability to challenge content.
    • Healthcare sector experience desirable but not essential, some knowledge of medical malpractice insurance would be advantageous.
    • Insurance background from an insurance company, Broker, or in-house insurance department will be considered.
    • A degree or equivalent qualification desirable.
    • CII or IRM qualified
