Account Handler – Specialist Risks (Life Sciences Training Provided)

Based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, this position offers the chance to build a career within Life Sciences insurance, working with organisations at the forefront of healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and clinical research.
You’ll work alongside experienced specialists, supporting clients with a wide range of insurance requirements including Professional Indemnity, Product Liability, Medical Malpractice, Clinical Trials, Employers’ Liability, Public Liability and broader commercial insurance programmes.
The role will involve managing client relationships, handling renewals, supporting new business enquiries, negotiating with insurers and becoming a trusted adviser to clients operating within the Life Sciences sector. You’ll gain exposure to complex and often unique risks, making this an excellent opportunity for somebody who enjoys learning and wants to develop beyond a traditional insurance handling role.
This is a fully office-based position in Birmingham. While many businesses have moved to hybrid working, this brokerage has maintained a collaborative office environment because it believes it’s the best way to support learning, development and mentoring, particularly within a highly specialist area of insurance. You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues, benefit from daily knowledge sharing and be immersed in all aspects of the business.
As your experience develops, there will be opportunities to take on increasing responsibility and play an important role in the future growth of the business. This is a long-term hire for a brokerage that is committed to investing in the right person and supporting their progression.
Life Sciences experience is not required. Full training will be provided.
