    Trade Credit Underwriter

    • Salary:
      £80000 - £120000 per annum, Benefits: bonus + shares

    • Location:
      London

    • Job reference:
      BH-159617

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Trade Credit Underwriter to join an innovative MGA operating within the fast-evolving world of environmental markets, natural restoration and carbon.
The business is already up and running, with rated carrier capacity in place. The focus is onnon-payment risk within environmental credits, with ambitious plans to grow the portfolio and expand into complementary areas such as energy transition.
This is not a role where you’ll simply underwrite an existing portfolio. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape the underwriting proposition, influence business strategy and play a key role in growing the MGA.

You’ll bring the insurance expertise to a specialist  business, working closely with brokers and capacity providers to structure and underwrite opportunities.
    You’ll be involved in:

    • Underwriting structured trade credit and non-payment transactions.
    • Building and developing broker relationships.
    • Working directly with rated capacity providers.
    • Contributing to business planning and underwriting strategy.
    • Growing the existing binder and identifying new opportunities.
    • Developing underwriting appetite across emerging environmental markets.
    • Travelling to meet brokers, clients and capacity providers.
    • Helping shape where the business goes next.

We’re looking for someone with 3 – 5 years Trade Credit background who understands how trading transactions work.
    You’ll need to be:

    • Commercial and entrepreneurial in your thinking.
    • Comfortable with autonomy and making decisions.
    • Experienced in structured trade / trade credit.
    • Underwriter or broker looking to make the move into underwriting.
    • Confident working with brokers and capacity providers.
    • Innovative and curious about new markets.
    • Willing to learn the carbon and environmental side of the business – you don’t need to be a carbon specialist.

The groundwork has already been done. Now they’re looking for someone to help build it.
You’ll join at a particularly exciting point in the MGA’s development, with capacity secured, a live portfolio and the freedom to help shape the next phase of growth.
If you’re an experienced Trade Credit professional who wants more ownership, more influence and the opportunity to work in a genuinely innovative market, this is a role worth exploring.
