Location – London/ Essex (Minimum 1 day per week in Essex)
Salary – Up to £65,000
IPS Group are working with a specialist insurance intermediary group to bring in a Commercial Combined Underwriter – This opportunity is split across their London and Essex offices.
The role
The position centres on Underwriting Commercial Combined risks across the SME and mid‑market sectors while driving profitable growth and strengthening broker relationships.
The role involves managing new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments, ensuring decisions are technically accurate, consistent, and delivered with excellent broker service – Premiums for this opportunity will typically range between £5,000 – £40,000.
This role offers the opportunity to influence underwriting strategy, support product development, and shape the performance of the Commercial Combined portfolio.
What you need
The ideal person for this opportunity will be a vastly experienced Commercial Combined Underwriter with excellent technical knowledge across Property, Business Interruption, Liability Insurance.
You will also have:
- Understanding of underwriting principles and risk selection.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong time‑management abilities
