Technical Underwriting Manager- Personal Lines
Location – 1 day in office
Salary – Up to £80,000
IPS Group are working with a leading UK insurer to bring in a Technical Underwriting Manager to play a pivotal role in developing and implementing their Personal Lines strategy.
This is a step away from a traditional Underwriting role and is more around strategy and portfolio management to drive business growth, whilst also managing a team of technical Underwriters.
You’ll lead the risk appetite strategy, working closely with Regional Underwriting and Pricing teams to ensure that the underwriting strategy is clear and understood. Your expertise will also ensure insurance coverages meet both regulatory standards, while your insight into market trends and competitor activity will keep you ahead in a dynamic environment.
The ideal person for this opportunity will have –
- Experience of leading the underwriting strategy, risk selection, and account performance
- Current market and competitor knowledge in Personal Lines insurance
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- An analytical mindset, with regular use of tools like PowerBI
- Previous people management within an Underwriting capacity
