Leading Lloyd’s of London Syndicate business are currently recruiting for a Tax Manager.
Varied and interesting opportunity which represents the chance to develop personally, but also to contribute towards the successful delivery of both direct & indirect statutory tax within a globally renowned insurance business.
Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Tax, typical responsibilities will include: –
- Corporate tax quarterly provision work, including expense analysis, preparing general ledger tax journals and reconciling BS tax balances
- Provide information to, and address queries from, the third-party service provider responsible for UK Corporation Tax returns
- Support with Lloyd’s tax related reporting, including US and Canadian SIS return work, UK Syndicate returns and PE certification
- Calculation of QIP amounts and liaising with Treasury team to arrange payments
- Work with the Head of Tax on corporate tax related advisory, compliance, project and analysis work
- Working with the Head of Tax to prepare the UK quarterly VAT group return in accordance with statutory requirements agreed with HMRC, including annual adjustment and CGS numbers, and preparation of journals following submission
- Providing responses to Finance colleagues and the wider business in relation to UK VAT queries
- Responsibility for preparing and submitting the quarterly UK IPT return for the insurance company (in run-off) and arranging payments or monitoring repayments
- Researching and responding to Lloyd’s related IPT related queries from underwriting teams
- Review of benefits provided in the year to staff, for PSA purposes, and assist in determining the amount of tax payable
The successful candidate will be a qualified Tax/Accountancy professional, who can demonstrate a working knowledge of Tax/VAT within a corporate environment.
