Prominent Lloyd’s insurance business require a Finance Business Partner to work closely with their class leading underwriting teams
The prime responsibilities will be to analyse, understand and articulate the performance of the underwriting business. In doing so you will develop relationships and work closely with the underwriting community being involved throughout the financial ‘lifecycle’ including the development of business plans, analysis of actual performance and reforecasting. You will both challenge the underwriters as well as support them in projects and delivering on underwriting actions.
You will represent finance to the business (class underwriters, portfolio managers etc) whilst also interacting with other key business areas (Actuarial, Risk etc). working closely with the FP&A team within finance who report at a more macro level dealing to a greater extent with the executive rather than underlying classes which the Business partners are more focussed.
Principal Accountabilities:
Monthly and quarterly divisional / portfolio and class of business MI delivering high quality analysis of trends, variances and performance metrics. – Clear and insightful articulation of performance relative to plan and prior year for inclusion in the presentation material for Underwriting Committees, EC and Boards as well as Group reporting. – Presentation of underwriting performance to MD’s and underwriting teams on a quarterly basis.
Working closely with the underwriting teams through the annual planning process to ensure that their plans are appropriately articulated through the planning templates and supporting narrative.
You will be an analytical individual preferably with London Market experience gained working in a Finance, Actuarial or Risk role. – Experience of business performance management disciplines; for example planning, budgeting, forecasting, balanced business scorecards and KPI reporting.
Technically adept using Microsoft applications (Excel, VBA and PowerPoint) to model, analyse and structure output
