A leading London Market insurer.

Principal Accountabilities:

Business Analysis tools and the level of detail required will vary by project as will the most appropriate solution documentation and demonstration methods. These may include detailed documentation; visually based designs; models; and prototypes, hence a broad working knowledge of Business Analysis tools is required as is the ability to communicate effectively with both the business and IT.

The Business Analyst will be responsible for the following:

Document and analyse business requirements and translate into systems development and/or operational change.
Development of Organisation Change (People, Process & Systems) from Target Operational Models.
Provide business with effective support and advice/expertise in relation to technological and operational changes to be used / implemented.
Assist the business to articulate and decide on prioritisation of requirements delivery.
Help the business to articulate what the successful design will do (Critical Success Factors / Critical to Quality/ etc).
Maintain quality of design and deliverables whilst adhering to budget and time constraints.
Recognising opportunities for business and/or applications improvements across a broad technical front and demonstrate the ability to take action and exploit such opportunities.
Communicate effectively with all levels of management and in public forums.
Maintain data quality, and improve where possible, through the introduction and/or maintenance of quality management procedures in concert with the business.
Develop the Test Approach, including documentation. Monitor against quality criteria. This may include business acceptance testing and user acceptance testing using various tools available like prototypes and the Model Office.
Develop the Implementation Approach including a training approach, communication approach, and roll out including any pilot requirements.


Education/Skills/Experience Required:

Project Life Cycle, Planning & Time allocation.
Application of recognised Business Analysis methodologies.
Process Re-engineering and Process Improvement.
Sufficient knowledge or skills to define the implications of proposed change on Infrastructure, Software applications & Hardware (existing and future selection).
Insurance industry and broad financial services knowledge.
Quality business process analysis and design output.
Delivery of designs on time and to budget.
Insurance industry background would be an advantage.

The following qualifications are preferred but not essential as some training will be provided:

Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt.
DSDM practitioner (or similar).
Process Modeling (iGrafx) & BPM Notation.
Project Management – resource & time management - Prince 2.
