Role:
IT Support Services is a 2nd/3rd line 24/7 support desk based in Greater London. Working for a City based Law firm this position is an opportunity to work in an important role which primarily focuses within the server, network and backup infrastructure. Your role will be to manage, resolve or escalate support calls for server infrastructure, core applications and system outages. The daily role and responsibilities include server administration/support, patch management, backup management (Tsm and backup Exec) and proactive monitoring and management of the infrastructure estate.
Main Duties:
Working within the team to ensure that high levels of productivity and service levels are maintained, including the effective communication of changes, problems and other service related issues at all levels
Monitor data capacity, server outages and escalate issues as appropriate.
Completing assigned project work individually or with other members as a team.
Manage all of the companies backup and restore systems using a combination of applications.
Ensure that the overnight financial systems batch processing is monitored as per documented procedures.
Effective liaison and team-working with all other IT support teams.
Responsible for ensuring server security procedures are carried out for windows server platforms.
Requirements:
It is essential to have excellent knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 Server, Active Directory, Exchange, networking fundamentals and backup technologies.
Preferable but not essential includes EMC SAN storage, NETIQ, KVS and Citrix.
