Attractive Salary & Additional Benefits
Location:
Cologne
Description:
As an Account Engineer in our General Property Engineering Practice you will provide risk assessment advice to the Underwriting Team, engineering support to the Claims function and assist customers' risk management.
You will review engineering reports, prepare desktop assessments and occasionally perform site surveys. You will attend meetings with insurance brokers and customers to promote the development of our portfolio. You will compile, analyze and present relevant technical information to assist the underwriting process.
A graduated engineer with account engineering experience would be ideally suited to this role, but candidates with other relevant backgrounds will also be considered. We are particularly interested in engineers with experience in the pulp & paper, primary metals and/or glass manufacturing industries. The successful candidate must have a good understanding of the manufacturing processes, as well as the associated hazards. Experience in fire protection engineering (HPR experience) is preferable, as is previous experience in the insurance business.
This is primarily an office based position in the Cologne office. You must also be used to working in a multinational environment and willing to travel. Linguistic skills including German and/or French would be an advantage, along with very good report writing skills.
Our client provides specialized insurance products to a global client base through its UK, US, European and Bermuda based insurance subsidiaries. Areas of expertise include energy, power, utility and construction, as well as other highly engineered risk classes.
