Title:
Pensions & Employee Benefits Manager
Reference:
WEB460962AG
Salary:
to £60,000 + Bonus & Package
Location:
London
Description:
This is a very varied and hence attractive opportunity to manage all aspects
of a wide range of Pensions and Benefits plans for an internationally renowned
professional services firm. It is also a brand new position, created in
recognition for the need to appoint an experienced specialist in the ever
changing Pensions and Benefits climate.
As well as responsibility for the firm’s DC pension scheme, the role also
involves managing both UK and International Health and Risk plans as well as
ancillary schemes such as staff gym membership, occupational health
considerations and various other related initiatives.
Much of the day to day operation of these schemes is outsourced so the role
involves a lot of relationship management across a range of third party
providers and advisers but it will entail a certain amount of hands on
involvement as well. There is a small support team to work with and the
jobholder will need the authority and gravitas to present to and communicate
effectively with the Trustees and senior management of the business. In
particular they will be expected to play a significant part in the management
of the schemes’ policy, strategy, governance, compliance and communications
requirements as well as managing the department’s annual budget.
The ideal candidate for this position will have prior experience of managing a
pensions department and should understand DC/GPP schemes every bit as much as
final salary, which is less relevant here. They should offer the gravitas and
technical acumen such a role normally insists upon but should also bring
exposure to a wider range of issues in the field. In particular the firm
needs this person to have experience of Risk and Health plans, some experience
of implementing and running Flexible Benefits programmes would be
advantageous, as would an understanding of the international benefits arena.
We see many vacancies in this field but few with this degree of breadth to
them with the added advantage of operating in a friendly but very professional
and commercially successful environment.
