One or two line description about the purpose of the job:
Undertaking and managing actuarial work in relation to the Health & Benefits
business. Providing actuarial insight and input into the Health & Benefits
business.
Approx 5-7 points describing the key responsibilities of the role:
§Managing and signing off post retirement medical valuations to meet the
requirements of international accounting standards.
§Funding, pricing and actuarial risk analyses for medical benefit plans,
group life assurance schemes and long term disability benefits, for all UK and
certain international arrangements.
§Advice on the relative merits of self insurance of employee benefits versus
full or partial insurance options, including use of reinsurance.
§Experience analyses and benchmarking of the UK client portfolio.
§Development and maintenance of actuarial tools and models to enhance the
value of the Health & Benefits consultant offering.
§Input to the strategy and business plans of the UK Health & Benefits
business.
§Day to day management of the actuarial team.
Qualifications/skills required:
1.Qualified actuary (FIA or FFA), with post qualification experience.
2.Strong excel and modelling skills.
3.Capable of working out new/efficient ways of working. Seeing, developing
and implementing business development opportunities in conjunction with line
of business experts.
4.Ability to provide solutions to situations/’can do’ attitude.
5.Ability to comfortably interact with clients and colleagues.
6.Comfortable managing a small team of actuarial students.
