A market leading international general insurance and reinsurance group is recruiting for a Senior Credit Controller to manage its Outwards book. The Outwards team provides accurate commentary for reporting to Business User Groups, Reinsurance Asset (Lloyds) & regular Group reporting (Bad Debt & RDR).
The job holder will supervise & process accurate collection of unsettled debts in a timely manner in order to achieve effective credit control, regularly review credit control reports against broker statements which will provide accurate management information, analyse & identify any problem areas, outstanding debt and act on those problems to effect satisfactory conclusion, monitor credit control output for both Syndicate and Company accounts to enable accurate reporting clients, track potential and future bad debtors and cash collection issues to ensure that each entity maximises any recovery, investigate overdue debts to ensure this is kept to a minimum where possible and deputise as and when required, instances such as managers meetings and Team meetings.
Applicants must have significant experience of working in a credit control team, knowledge of reinsurance accounting, working knowledge of London market insurance practices (preferably an understanding of Lloyd’s market) and a strong appreciation of IT systems.
This role will very quickly lead into a supervisory one and it would be advantageous if applicants had experience of managing a credit control team.
