DETAILS OF ROLE – PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS
· To work with the Chief Actuary in the development of this organisations actuarial systems.
· To play a significant role in the regular actuarial requirements of Statutory, Irish GAAP and IFRS reporting, Analysis of Surplus, ALM and Solvency Calculations.
DETAILS OF ROLE – KEY TASKS
This role represents an opportunity for a nearly/newly qualified actuary to gain experience in many of the actuarial workings of a Life Office. The key tasks in this role will be:
· Regular preparation of reserves and profit and loss accounts for Statutory, Irish GAAP and IFRS reporting.
· Analyse Statutory and Embedded Value Surplus and reconcile reserves and profits across different accounting standards and between different periods.
· Develop model office projections on Moses/Prophet to project reserves and profits to demonstrate the dynamics of the businesses for business planning and to predict the profitability profiles.
· Perform solvency calculations and embed these calculations in Moses/Prophet developments.
· Monitor the asset and liability matching positions at regular intervals.
· Develop systems to review the company's experience in areas such as mortality and policy lapses.
· Assist the actuary in Product Pricing and design.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Actuary/Actuarial Student
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Work experience required: 3 years+, preferably in a financial reporting environment.
Product experience required: Knowledge of unit-linked and tracker products
PC skills required: Excel, Access, Moses/Prophet experience a definite advantage.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to think analytically and to make clear decisions on complex issues.
· Ability to draft reports on a range of the company's activities.
· Ability to multi-task
· Ability to forge effective working relationships with internal and external contacts
· Effective communication skills.
