Insurance Personnel Selection

Insurance Personnel Selection is the backbone of IPS Group and has been operating within general insurance recruitment since the company's formation in 1969. It was one of the first to specialise in this sector.

From our offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Southampton, Insurance Personnel Selection commands a strong reputation in both the domestic and global insurance markets. We draw our consultants primarily from the insurance industry, with hands-on experience of management, broking, underwriting or claims handling.

The breadth of skills shared by our team enables us to source candidates for a diversity of clients and roles. These may be broking houses and underwriting agencies, or companies who are involved in all classes of direct or reinsurance business, either at home or overseas. Each consultant may specialise in recruiting for a particular level of seniority or area of the market, but responsibility for co-ordinating a complete recruitment programme usually rests with one consultant, acting as the principal point of contact.

An area of real expansion in recent years has been the growth of regional call centres and customer service departments, in particular by insurers and loss adjusters. IPS has responded to this new challenge by dedicating consultants to specialise in this sector, given its very different recruitment needs.

IPS offers a superior advertising service, with the highest exposure in specialist and local press. Attracted by our high profile campaigns, and also through personal recommendation, we have maintained a resource of applicants now registered with Insurance Personnel Selection that continues to grow. Our unique database encompasses candidates from different educational backgrounds, with technical, sales or customer service skills. Aware that graduates have a special role to play in advancing our industry, we actively search for those who are qualified and who possess degrees. This ready-made resource of talent, and the detailed information we have on each candidate, relieves our clients of much of the recruitment process, and puts them instantly on the fast track to finding the most suitable employee.

The recruitment services we offer can be adapted to the demands of each assignment, in our bid to always ensure complete client satisfaction. This may mean that for certain organisations, we evaluate the benefits of outsourcing the entire recruitment facility and make informed recommendations and proposals to that effect. For some clients we have agreed to undertake testing and/or reference checking as an additional service.

An exceptionally high proportion of our work is repeat business, from clients who have come to regard us as a strategic partner and as an extension of their own HR department. That testifies to the importance placed by our consultants, and by IPS as a whole, upon building genuine relationships with our clients, so that we may anticipate and serve their long-term needs.

Furthermore, we have been selected as the preferred supplier by many clients; ranging from large global household named institutions to smaller independently and privately owned enterprises.
